Purpose & Program

First Friends Preschool of First Presbyterian Church of Dunedin

First Friends Preschool operate under the Session of First Presbyterian Church, Dunedin. We are licensed by Pinellas County License Board for Children's Centers and Family Day Care Homes under license #C620524.

The main objective of our progran is to provide a positive Christian inclusive atmosphere for all children. Children under our care develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Learning experiences are appropriate for the developmental age of each child.

Based on the theory that children learn through play, classroom routines encourage active involvement, meaningful experimentation and reinforcement through repetition.

Positive guidance techniques are used to enhance the children's feeling of self-worth. The daily schedule includes large and small group interaction which helps the children learn to cooperate and share, self-selected activities which stimulate growth and creativity as well as emotional and social development outdoor activities which help develop large and small motor skills. Nutritious snacks are given each day.

The staff of First Friends Preschool, as both care givers and teachers are required to meet all state and local requirements.
